大麻を禁止したのは昭和２３年アメリカの政策によるもので、それまで
日本はずっと大麻を栽培してきて、服作ったり薬にしたりの貴重な農産物
だった。アメリカはなぜ大麻栽培を禁じたのか。

依存性があるからとか有害だからとかそんな理由ではない。
大麻にはタバコやお酒ほどの習慣性はないし、なにより依存性の高い
ヒロポン(覚せい剤）が禁止になったのは昭和２６年だから。

今言われている理由は色々あるけれど、大麻がオールマイティな植物で、
存在が不都合だから。石油に代わるエネルギーになる。
肥料もいらず生育も早くたいていの土地で育ち、紙、布、薬など用途多彩で
エコな植物。大麻の種は高品質なたんぱく質。石油、化学繊維、製薬、色んな
業界にとって大麻ってのはとっても厄介な存在だったんですね。

そして、もう一つ、日本の神性を奪うこともその理由であったのかなと
思います。大麻というのは天照大神の化身とされていて、天照大神の御札の
ことを神宮大麻と呼ぶし、神職の服も、注連縄も・・・注連縄も昔は大麻
だった。今の注連縄は残念ながらほとんど稲のワラです。
